Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Lower Corfton is a house that has been converted into two separate homes. It dates back to the 17th century and was refronted in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed from dressed sandstone rubble, with timber framing and plaster, and features a plain tile roof along with banded brick end stacks.
The exterior is single-storey with an attic and has two entrances, each with plank doors set in stone gable porches that have ornamental bargeboards. There are three 2-light casement windows beneath hood mouldings, and the twin attic gables also have 2-light metal lattice casements, which are similarly adorned with bargeboards. The right side of the building is made of stone rubble, while the left side features timber framing and plaster with a rubble lean-to. The rear of the building is timber-framed and plastered. The interior has not been inspected.
