Description
The Glebe Farmhouse, formerly known as Cleeve Farmhouse, is a farmhouse dating from the 16th or 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber-frame structure with lath and plaster infill, set on a rubble plinth, and has a steeply-pitched plain tile roof. A 17th-century brick stack with a 20th-century superstructure is located at the center front, with a similar stack on the left returned side. The building has an H-shaped plan.
The exterior comprises two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, with a four-window range. The advanced wing to the right includes a three-light casement window beneath a simple hood, and there are three two-light casements, one in the advanced wing to the left, with a similar casement in the gable. The entrance is located to the center left, featuring a 20th-century studded and battened plank door within an earlier frame, topped by a brick segmental arch. To the right of the entrance is a three-light casement under a brick segmental arch, and another three-light casement under a simple hood, both in box framing with passing-braces. To the left are two two-light casements. On the right returned side, there are three two- and three-light casements, above a 20th-century glazed door with a three-light casement to the left and a two-light casement to the right. All windows date from the 19th century.
Inside, the farmhouse features exposed timbers, chamfered ceiling beams, panelling, and an ex-situ balustrade.
