Description

Delbury Hall is a country house built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate double-pitch roof, with four cross-axial brick ridge stacks and two brick end stacks. The building has an irregular plan and consists of three storeys and a cellar, with a symmetrical seven-window range and two-bay wings on either side.

The front facade includes a central 12/8 sash window, flanked by 9/6 sash windows in an advanced bay, as well as additional 9/6 sashes, a 4/4 sash, and 3/3 sashes. There is a brick modillioned stone cornice at the parapet topped with moulded stone coping. The central entrance features a 20th-century glazed door with a Gothick-glazed fanlight, set in round-headed panelled reveals and covered by a moulded wood open-pediment hood supported by fluted pilasters. The entrance is flanked by 9/6 sashes and has a storey band.

The two-storey wings each have four 9/6 sashes and share a similar cornice and parapet, with a returned storey band. The windows are framed with moulded cases under gauged brick flat arches. On the left side, there is a 9/6 sash and two blind openings above 9/6 sashes and a central blind opening, as well as French windows with a barred overlight.

The rear of the house mirrors the front, with two blocked openings on the second floor and a 9/9 sash window beneath a moulded wood pediment on plain pilasters. An advanced wing added in the late 19th century is a single storey and features 9/6 and 6/4 sashes, along with a four-light casement on the north side, and a moulded stone cornice leading to a parapet.

Inside, there is an empire staircase with turned balusters and a moulded rail, along with a gallery.
