Description
The dovecote at Delbury Hall is a mid-18th century structure built from coursed sandstone rubble, topped with a plain tile roof featuring brick gable parapets and a restored louvred lantern at the ridge. It is square in plan and consists of a single storey.
The entrance is located in the north-west gable end and features a six-fielded-panel door set in a beaded oak frame, along with a louvred opening in the gable. The returned sides have late 19th-century cross-windows, and there are brick modillion bands at the eaves.
Inside, the dovecote contains brick nesting holes with platforms and a collared truss, although the raking struts are missing. This dovecote is part of a group of buildings centered around Delbury Hall.
