Description
Nos. 10 and 12 High Street is a house that has been converted into two dwellings, dating from the early to mid-18th century. The building is constructed of soft red brick that has been reddened, and it features an old plain tile roof with shallow tumbled gable parapets and rebuilt end stacks. There is a lower range to the south that has a corrugated iron roof.
The structure has two storeys and one storey, with an original symmetrical facade of three bays that was altered in the 19th century by the addition of a doorway to the left of the main entrance. The main entrance features an 18th-century six-panelled door with a moulded and gauged brick arch and cornice. A brick band runs along the first floor.
The building has two twenty-paned hung sash windows and one similar first-floor window, all set in segmental brick arches, which replaced windows that were similar to one original first-floor three-light transomed window that had some leaded lights on the right-hand side. Above the entrance, there is a central hung sash window with nine panes.
