Description

Merchant's House is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations from the early 18th century. It features an exposed timber frame and plastered walls that are cased in local gault brick. The roof is hipped and covered with plain tiles, and there is a rear stack. The building stands two storeys high and includes a rear wing. Notable architectural details include a brick band and plinth, two panelled doors, and two ground floor sixteen-paned hung sash windows set in segmental brick arches, along with four similar windows on the first floor. This house was formerly known as The Swan Inn.
