Description
These are houses located at 54, 55, 57, and 58 Corve Street, dating from the mid-19th century with a core that dates back to the 17th century. They are constructed of colour-washed brick and have a Welsh slate roof with brick end stacks. The buildings are three stories high and feature a three-window range with 6/6 sash windows that have brick sills beneath stone arched lintels, along with 3/3 sashes above. The central bay is recessed and includes a passage to the rear, with an 8/8 sash window to the right. The rear of No. 54 is roughcast and shows remnants of an early stack base, with 19th and 20th-century faced wings. The central passageway reveals exposed timber-frame in the rear corner of No. 54. No. 58 has a two-story wing at the back made of rubble with a plain tile roof, featuring brick-lined openings and a blocked doorway on the side. There is a 19th-century door located at the angle of the passage leading to the rear. The right end displays a brick facing on the front and a rendered side elevation where visible. Inside Nos. 54 and 55, there is exposed timber framing and decorated plasterwork.
