Description
The gate and gateposts located approximately 35 metres to the east of Roveries Hall are possibly from the 18th century but are likely from the mid to late 19th century. They are made of wrought iron and feature margins with S-scrolls and rosettes at the corners. The middle panel has a scrolled centerpiece, and the top rail is adorned with central swan-necked scrolls and a finial. The square section posts have a barley sugar twist in the top half and also include finials. These gates are said to have originated from Italy, although they were not originally intended for Roveries Hall.
