Description
Lydham Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th century. It is primarily timber framed but has largely been rebuilt in stone, with a rendered finish and a slate roof. The building is designed in an L-plan, featuring one surviving framed bay on the north side. It has two storeys, with an end stack located at the south and a ridge stack that is off-centre to the north.
The east front of the farmhouse is set back to the right and presents a three-window layout, featuring mid to late 20th century metal casements. The central entrance consists of a four-panelled door, which has two flush bottom panels and a three-light rectangular overlight. There is also an entrance to the north of the west wing.
Inside, some original timber framing remains, along with chamfered beams in the west wing. During repairs, curved timbers were uncovered beneath some windows, which may potentially be reused crucks.
