Description
Lys House is a farmhouse that has been divided into flats. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with axial stacks positioned on the left and right slopes. It stands three storeys tall and has a toothed eaves cornice. The front has three windows, which are late 20th-century casements with original cambered heads. The central entrance features a plain pedimented doorcase with a panelled door that now has glazed panels, along with a rectangular four-light overlight above. The outline of a former gabled porch is still visible. There are single-storey pavilion-like wings on both the left and right sides, each with a blind cambered opening and stone coping that rises above a central pediment. The left wing is a facade only, while the right wing has a brick lean-to behind it, which has been altered and extended in the late 20th century.
