Description

This barn, located approximately 20 meters north-east of No. 4 on Shrewsbury Road in Cressage, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on an uncoursed limestone rubble plinth, topped with a plain tile roof. The interior is open to the roof and consists of three framed bays, with corrugated iron doors positioned to the left and center. Inside, there are two square timber framed panels extending from the cill to the wall-plate, supported by short straight tension braces. The roof structure includes raking struts that connect the tie beams to the principal rafters.
