Description
Tenbury and District Hospital is a house that has been incorporated into the hospital, dating from the early 19th century. It features painted rendered brick on the front and painted brick at the rear, topped with a slate hipped roof that has deep eaves. The building has brick integral end and lateral ridge stacks and an L-shaped plan, with a 19th-century extension wing to the left and significant 20th-century extensions to the right.
The exterior is two storeys high, with the south front displaying a two-storey range of five 8/8 sash windows. The right ground floor window has been replaced with a 20th-century window and door. There is a central porch with a metal tent roof supported by ornate ironwork columns, leading to a five-panelled door with a top-light featuring perimeter glazing. The left return wing has an 8/8 sash window and a 4/4 sash window at the first floor. The rear of the building has a mix of 19th and 20th-century windows. The left wing includes a first-floor veranda, while the right side has large later additions and extensions. The interior has not been inspected.
