RUYTON-XI-TOWNS C.P. Kitchen garden wall approx. 80m north-east of Pradoe

GV II

Kitchen garden wall. 1805-6 (document) apparently reusing mid-C18 bricks, repaired in 1826. Red brick with sandstone ashlar coping replaced in some parts by tile or slate capping; some early C19 brick on south side. Encloses rectangular area of approximately 90 x 60m. Red brick pilasters on all sides and built-in heating flues on north. Square-headed entrance with stone surround on south. 6,000 bricks were used in construction which cost £286. 18s.
