Description

This barn, located approximately 40 meters south-west of Olde Farmhouse, is believed to date from the early 19th century, although it may be older. It is constructed of red brick with a timber-framed and brick addition, topped with a plain tile roof. The main section of the barn has two levels and features double doors to the left of the center, along with three eaves hatches to the left, right of center, and to the right. There are three lozenge-shaped air vents to the left and four to the right of the double doors, with four rows of perforations above and one below, as well as ten rows of perforations on the south-east gable. A lower range with light timber framing, dating from the 19th century, is attached to the north-west gable. The interior could not be inspected during the re-survey in 1985, but exposed purlin ends indicate that the 19th-century brickwork may be a casing for an earlier structure.
