Description
The gate piers, gates, and railings located on the west side of the churchyard of the Church of St Edward, which flank the drive to the Old Vicarage, date from around 1845. The gate piers are made of limestone ashlar and are square in section, featuring a moulded plinth and a pyramidal cap. They form the entrances at the north-west corner of the churchyard, positioned in front of the west tower of the Church of St Edward and alongside the drive to the Old Vicarage. The wrought-iron railings extend approximately 40 meters in length and are adorned with nail-headed finials and pointed standards. The wrought-iron gates include a socket for a former lamp above. These features are included for their group value.
