Description

The Old Post Office is a mid-19th century house, later used as a shop and now a house. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof and end stacks. The two-storey, three-window front features flush-framed glazing bar sashes with segmental heads. The central entrance has a six-panel door, with the top panels glazed, sheltered by a late 19th century gabled trellised porch. A full-height lean-to extends to the left, featuring a 20th century half-glazed door and a late 19th century casement, both with segmental heads. Attached to the front are gate piers and railings; the ashlar gate piers have domed caps, and the cast-iron railings are topped with fleur-de-lys finials. The building is included on the list for group value.
