Description
1 Dogpole Court is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a clay tile roof. The building has three storeys and an L-shaped plan with a canted angle that creates a three-sided, three-window range. The doorway is located across the angle and consists of a six-panelled door with an overlight, set within a moulded architrave that has console brackets supporting the entablature. The left-hand projecting bay contains blind window spaces. On the ground floor of the right-hand section, there is a 12-pane sash window, and above the doorway, there are 12-pane sash windows on each floor, all featuring flat-arched stuccoed heads. The rear elevation includes a two-window range on the left with a blind lower floor and 12-pane sash windows above, while the right side has a projecting wing with an inserted full-height canted bay window. There are also blind window spaces on the inner angle. The building has a moulded wood eaves cornice and gable end stacks, and traces of earlier brickwork can be seen in the lower storey of the left-hand block.
