Description

This is a barn and cow house located approximately 35 metres south of Black Hall. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with alterations and additions made in the early and mid-to-late 19th century. The structure features a weatherboarded timber frame and coursed limestone rubble, with some parts rebuilt in 20th-century concrete block. The roof is made of corrugated iron.

The building consists of a long range of farm buildings divided into two parts, with four bays aligned east-west and varying in height from one to two storeys. The north front has three boarded pitching doors and two boarded ground floor doors on the right. To the left is an early 19th-century cow house with a boarded door and a loft door in the gable end. On the right is a lower mid-to-late 19th-century two-bay barn, also weatherboarded with a coursed rubble plinth and a corrugated iron roof.

Inside, the barn features tie-beam roof trusses with raking queen struts and two pairs of purlins. This building is part of a farmstead group that includes Black Hall.
