BOMERE HEATH C.P. FITZ SJ 41 NW 5/85 Small barn approx. 30 metres - to north-east of Fitz Manor

GV II

Small barn. C17. Timber framed with painted brick nogging. High red brick plinth with stone coping. Weatherboarded gable to north-west. Corrugated iron roof. Framing: small square panels (3 from sole plate to wall plate) with short straight corner braces. 2 framed bays. One storey and loft, over basement. Boarded door to south-west, approached by external flight of red sandstone steps. Square openings to gable end and to rear; loft opening in gable to right. Former cartshed in plinth in right-hand gable end. Interior: collar and tie-beam end trusses, that to north-west with V-struts too. Central cross frame with angle braces, interrupted tie-beam and collar truss, with queen struts from central floor beam. Pairs of purlins with wind braces.
