Description
Barn. Dating to the 17th century, with later additions and alterations, it is located approximately 30 metres north of Green Acres. The barn is timber-framed with weatherboarding on the south side and corrugated iron sheeting cladding the north side. The west gable end has been rebuilt using uncoursed limestone rubble, and the roof is corrugated iron. Internally, the barn is open to the roof, except for the eastern bay, which incorporates an inserted loft. It has four framed bays, with two western trusses of Queen-post construction and an eastern truss of Queen-strut type, featuring V-struts from the collar, jowled wall posts and straight windbraces. A later two-bay range projecting at right angles to the south-west is not included as part of the listed structure, nor is Green Acres itself.
