Description

This is a byre with a hayloft, located approximately 10 metres north of Tong Norton Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame featuring red brick nogging and a red brick ground floor, topped with an old tile roof. The building has two framed bays on the first floor and stands two storeys tall. The framing consists of square panels with tension braces, and it has exposed queen post trusses with v-struts. The west front includes two openings on the first floor, which flank a boarded loft door that is off-centre to the left. On the ground floor, there are two entrances to the right and boarded double doors to the left. There are nine steps leading to the south that provide access to the first floor entrance.
