Description

The building is a byre, dating to the late 17th century. It is a 2-bay timber-frame structure built on a tarred brick plinth and clad in dark weatherboards. The roof is steeply pitched and now covered in corrugated iron. The byre faces east with a door in the middle of the front elevation, situated within the farmyard. Notable features include jowled posts, long straight tension braces, clasped-purlins carried on collars, and long straight windbraces extending from the gable ends. A heavy oak doorframe is also present. The interior is plastered to a height of half the wall. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the farm complex.
