Description

The Bull Public House is a building that was originally a house, dating from the 17th century or earlier, and later adapted as a public house. It features a timber frame that is cased in plum brick with red dressings, which are now painted on the front and southern part of the building. The roof is steeply pitched with old red tiles, while the eastern part of the rear wing has a low-pitched slate roof.

This two-storey corner building faces west and includes a single-storey rear service wing on the southeast. It has a three-cell plan that was formerly roofed with a cross-gable over the parlour at the southern end, and there is a large projecting external chimney on the eastern side. A very large chimney on the northern gable has an open fireplace that spans the full width of the house.

At the rear of the central part of the building, there is a stair turret with front and rear doors. The western front features a plat-band and a black-painted plinth. There are four windows on the first floor, along with two blocked openings. The three windows on the ground floor have segmental arches, and the ground floor also includes flush two-light casement windows with small panes and external louvred shutters. A renewed eight-panel door is set in a heavy frame and accessed by two steps. Additionally, there is a wrought iron sign at the right-hand end of the front.
