SO58SE Stables to south-west of Moor 482-1/3/186 Farmhouse

Stables with granary. C17. Timber-frame with brick infill set on stone rubble and brick walls. Stone rubble and brick walls to rear. Slate and plain-tile hipped and gabled roofs. L-shaped plan of stable wing aligned east-west, with storage range extended to the north. EXTERIOR: south front with loft-level square framing of girding beam, studs and middle rails set on partly open bays with brick piers. To right is recessed 2-bay rubble stone enclosed stable with stable door to left. Set back to right is C19 storage wing with hipped plain-tile roof, reused square framing infilled with brick and set on high rubble stone plinth. Left return gable: stone rubble with stone granary steps to first-floor plain boarded door and door frame. Rear: granary has stone rubble wall with stable door under segmental arch and with brick quoins; stable to left has brick wall with stable door and window opening with brick segmental arches. Forms a group with Moor Farmhouse and barn to the north (qqv) and included for group value.
