Description
This building is a barn located about 40 yards west of Cwarelau, likely dating from the 17th century. It features a timber-frame construction with rubble and a corrugated asbestos roof. The barn has a longitudinal plan that runs north to south, with access through the gable end.
On the east elevation, there are two storeys with two five-light diamond-section oak mullioned windows on the right side. Above these, on the first floor, are similar windows but with four lights. To the left, there is a timber-framed section that is probably three bays wide, featuring a large ledged opposing door beneath a weatherboarded upper zone that retains timber posts.
The rear elevation includes a lean-to extension made of 20th-century breeze blocks, which protects a diamond-section mullioned window on the west wall of the northern part. The north gable has a similar window and a stop-chamfered door frame. The interior has not been inspected.
