Description

Pear Tree Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century, with some alterations from the early 19th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill set on a coursed rubble plinth and has an asbestos slate roof. The building consists of two framed bays aligned east to west, featuring an external stack made of rubble with a brick shaft on the west gable. The north front has one storey with a gable-lit attic and includes three windows: a 4-light casement on the left and two 3-light casements. The entrance is located at the rear. The framing consists of three square panels high with slightly curved angle braces. The gable-end truss is supported by two struts to the collar and has trenched purlins.
