Description
This barn, located about 20 yards north-east of High Town Cottage, likely dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings, weatherboards, and a Welsh slate roof. The barn has three bays that are aligned roughly north to south. The west elevation features four vent slits on each side of a weatherboarded gabled porch, although the lower right vent slits are obscured by an early 20th-century lean-to. The gables have verges. On the east elevation, there are ledged double doors that lead to the threshing floor. Inside, the barn has bolted king-post trusses. It is included in the register for its group value.
