Description

Wellsbrook Farmhouse is likely a 15th or 16th century farmhouse, with alterations and additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is timber-framed, finished with render and sandstone rubble, and has a concrete tile roof and a brick stack. The farmhouse is two bays wide, aligned east/west. The north elevation has two windows: a two-light steel casement to the left and a three-light steel casement to the right. The ground floor has two early 20th century casements, and a ledged door under a canopy to the right-hand side. A 19th-century rubble lean-to is attached to the right-hand end. Inside, three pairs of cruck blades are visible on the upper floor. A wall-frame is said to survive on one side, and the other side wall is said to be sandstone rubble.
