Description
The cider house and store, located about 20 yards west of Bridge Lane Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th century and was extended in the mid-19th century. It features a brick plinth, timber-frame construction, weatherboards, and a pantiled roof. The building consists of four bays arranged east to west, with a 19th-century brick extension that was formerly a slaughterhouse to the east. There are three entrances on the south side and one entrance in the east gable. The frame has two panels high from the plinth to the wall-plate. Inside the western part, there is a cider press and cider mill still in place. The 19th-century brick section includes a large wooden pulley in the roof space, which was used for lifting carcasses.
