Description

This cart shed, located about 30 yards south-west of Brook House, is likely from the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame covered with weatherboards and a corrugated iron roof. The structure has three bays that are aligned roughly north to south. The south gable end includes a full-width entry and a loft door. The frame consists of thin scantling with occasional diagonal struts in the walls. The tie-beams are supported by angle struts and have raking struts to the principals. This building is included for its group value, although Brook House itself is not listed.
