4/36 Building immediately north west of Oldcastle Farmhouse -

GV II

Probable detached kitchen, wash-house and servants' dwelling, now disused. Perhaps mid-C18. Brick and stone over cellar, tiled roof: catslide to south, local type external stack to north side. One storey and attic, 2 bays; 2 wooden plain mullioned windows on north side to right of entrance: one to each floor, one early C19 6-light casement in east gable and one beneath in ground floor of east wall. 2 entrances: one at right hand side of east wall via steps from lower level, with brick barrel-vaulted dog-kennel beneath; the other through tiled porch to west of the external stack. Brickwork of south side and south west corner is contemporary with that of the gable- ends of Oldcastle Farmhouse (qv). Detached shaft of the external chimney is linked to the main roof surface by a small attic cross-gable.
