Description
Norton Cottage is a cottage built in 1835, as indicated by a tablet on the front wall. It is constructed of brick with a slate roof and features end stacks. The cottage is aligned north-west to south-east and has two storeys with three windows. The south-west elevation showcases Flemish bond brickwork, a brick dentilled eaves cornice, and window heads that have a tumbled brick effect. It has regularly spaced three-light iron casements, each containing 21 panes. The central entrance features a six-panelled door beneath a transom light with rectilinear glazing bars, and there is a Gothic gabled porch added around 1900. The north end of the cottage has two blind windows. There is a lean-to attached to the south-east, which is connected to the flanking walls of the gardens.
