Description
The garden gateway and flanking garden wall, built in the 18th century, are located approximately 15 meters west of The Chantry. The structure features brick piers with an ashlar pediment at the gateway. The wall is made of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings. The central gateway has plain rectangular piers and a plain pediment, and it is flanked by a 10-meter section of low wall on both the north and south sides. These sections of the wall have ashlar capping that curves upward at both ends, culminating in a volute.
