Description
This is a garden gateway and wall built in the 18th century, located about 25 yards north of Brelston Court. The structure is made of brick and sandstone rubble, featuring sandstone dressings. The gateway is positioned at the east end of the wall, which runs approximately 20 yards in a north-east to south-west direction towards the Privy. The gateway has channelled jambs and voussoirs, along with a dropped keystone, three sandstone merlons, and brick flank walls topped with curved coping that rises to meet the merlons. The wall extending from the gateway to the Privy is constructed partly of brick and partly of sandstone rubble, finished with stone-on-edge coping.
