Description
Upper House is a house that possibly dates back to the 16th century but has been altered and extended in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with 20th-century infill, a sandstone plinth, and a tiled roof, along with brick additions from the 20th century. The house has two framed bays that are aligned east to west and face north, with a rear stack that is enclosed by a 20th-century addition which serves as an entrance in a lean-to on the west side. It is a single storey with an attic, showcasing 20th-century windows, including one canted window and two small windows located below the eaves on the left, as well as three 2-light glazing bar casements on the right. The framing is irregular and has been altered, consisting of two and three square panels. Inside, the house retains a fairly complete central cruck truss. There is an adjoining garage to the east, but it is not of special architectural interest.
