Description
This building comprises a barn and an adjoining barn and stable located approximately 25 meters west of Woodhouse Farmhouse. The 18th century barn, along with the adjoining stable, is complemented by a late 18th century or early 19th century barn that has undergone 20th century alterations. The structure is built from sandstone rubble, featuring a mix of Welsh slate and pantiled roofs. The original 18th century barn and stable are aligned east to west, with the barn consisting of three bays and a central projecting porch. The single-bay stable is attached to the east end and has a gable-end entry. The later five-bay barn is connected at the west end and extends to the north, also featuring a central projecting porch. Both barns have two rows of loop vents flanking their porches, and there is a square-headed doorway on the east gable end of the stack, with a similar square-headed wooden framed and mullioned two-light window opening to the left. Inside, the barn has two struts to the collar of its trusses, while the stable features inclined strut trusses in the later barn. This building is included for its group value.
