8/59 Stables about 35 yards north-west of Hellens

GV II

Stables. Probably late C18 with late C19 alterations. Brick with tiled roof. Rectangular plan aligned north/south. West elevation: four lunettes to left and centre below projecting brick eaves cornice with stable door separating them into pairs; to the right is a deep semi-circular headed window with a second stable door at the extreme right. South gable has central lunette above slightly off-centre double-leaved late C19 ledged doors. Forms a group with nearly six-bay barn and cow shelter (qv) and stable block (qv) attached by link wall to Hellens (qv). Included for group value.
