Description

This barn, located about 35 yards north-east of The Lays Farmhouse, likely dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble, featuring sandstone and brick dressings, and has a tiled roof. The barn consists of three bays oriented north to south. On the west elevation, there are perforated brick panels set beneath semi-circular headed brick arches, located under the eaves. The central section includes a full-height cart entry with a cambered head, a ledged door, and a blocked segmentally-headed opening to the right, which has a louvred opening above it.
