Description
The Lewis and Morgan monuments are two pedestal tombs located about 10 yards south of the chancel of the Church of St Faith. They date from the mid-19th century. The western tomb is for Robert Gwillim Lewis, who died in 1863. It is made of ashlar stone, features fluted corners, recessed rectangular inscription panels, a moulded top, and a finial with acroteria. The eastern tomb, approximately one yard away, is for Margaret Morgan, who died in 1857. This tomb also uses ashlar stone and has gadrooned corners with enriched balusters, a stepped and moulded base, and a stone-capped top. These monuments are considered unusually late examples of this type of tomb.
