Description

The Morgan monument is a chest tomb located about 7 metres south of the southeast corner of the Church of St. Bartholomew. It dates from around 1845 and is made of Welsh slate. The tomb features single slab sides and a ridged capstone. The sides are designed with beaded angles and a framed plaque that displays fine incised lettering. The inscriptions commemorate Fanny Morgan, who died in 1841, and Morgan Morgan, who died in 1843. This monument is noted for being an unusual complete chest tomb made from slate slabs.
