Description
This barn, located about 35 yards north-east of New Mills Farmhouse, dates from 1801, as indicated on the quoin. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof. The barn has three bays that are aligned roughly north to south. The west elevation has a central full-height entry with two-leaved ledged doors. On either side of the entry, there are four vent loops arranged in two rows of two. The south gable has vent slits that are aligned differently from those on the sides. Inside, the barn has collars with V-struts, with each collar supported by two vertical posts from the tie-beams. This barn is included for its group value.
