Description
This building is an outbuilding, located about 5 yards west of The Orchards. It is a wash house that has been converted into a tack room, likely dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The structure is timber-framed with brick infill and features a tiled roof with a side stack. It consists of two structural bays and is a single storey in height. On the left of the centre, there is a wrought iron 3-light casement window, and to the right, a ledged door flanked by pilasters. The timber frame is constructed with very light scantling, featuring three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate and triple angle struts at the gables. Inside, there is a central truss with raking struts extending from the collar to the principals, along with a brick fireplace. This building is included for its group value.
