Description

This cart shed, located about 70 yards north-north-west of Lower Monkton, likely dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features a timber frame with sandstone rubble walls at the ends and rear, topped by a corrugated iron roof. The structure consists of five structural bays arranged roughly in a north-south direction. The east elevation includes a projecting catslide canopy supported by two front posts in the central bay. Inside, the shed has trusses with two posts extending from the ties to the collars.
