Description
21 and 22 Duke Street are cottages with an 18th-century front and a 17th-century core. They are finished in stucco and feature a shallow pitched Welsh slate roof. There is a cross-axial brick end stack on the left and another stack at the rear. The cottages are two storeys high and have a three-window range with 8/8 sash windows, which have old glass and are set in broad cases. The eaves are bracketed.
There are central paired entrances with four-panel doors that are sheltered by a wooden flat hood supported on brackets. To the right of the entrances, there is a passage leading to the rear, while there is likely a blocked passage to the left. The right side of the building is timber-framed with brick infill. At the rear, the structure is rendered and features a fixed window along with two 2/2 casements, and a brick buttress stack.
