Description
24 and 25 Duke Street are cottages dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed of stucco with a Welsh slate roof and feature two brick ridge stacks, along with a rubble stack on the left side. The buildings are two storeys high and have a four-window range with 6/6 casements, although the leftmost window has been replaced with a 20th-century version, all set in moulded cases.
No. 24 has a part-glazed panelled door with a barred overlight, framed by a moulded architrave and topped with a wooden flat hood supported by brackets. To the left of the door is a 6/6 casement in a moulded case. No. 25 features a 20th-century door beneath a wooden flat hood on brackets, flanked by 6/6 sash windows in moulded cases.
The left side of the buildings is finished in stucco and rubble. At the rear, there is a 20th-century dormer alongside a 18th-century dormer that has a 20th-century casement, set in a timber frame. Additionally, there are two gable wings on the left, which include a rubble lateral stack.
