Description
The building is a community centre that was originally a school, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble with ashlar detailing and features a Welsh slate roof and brick stacks at the rear. The plan is H-shaped with irregular wings at the back and is a single storey high. The front has a four-window arrangement, including two central square-headed three-light mullions with Gothic tracery beneath ashlar hood mouldings. The advanced wings feature three-light mullions with Gothic tracery set under pointed arches with hood moulding. There are lean-tos with three-light mullions, buttresses, stone-coped gable parapets, and two roof dormers with three-light stone mullion windows beneath rubble gables. On the left side, there are various fixed lights and three-light mullions, along with a 20th-century half-glazed panelled door and a barred overlight, as well as stepped buttresses. At the rear, there is a schoolmaster's house with a porch attached to the main range. The interior has not been inspected.
