Description
The Great House is a house that likely dates from the early 17th century, with a refronting in the early 18th century and some alterations from the mid-19th century and late 20th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and rendered infill, mostly covered with rough cast brick, and has a hipped slate roof with swept eaves. The building is designed in an H-plan, with the central block oriented north-east to south-west. A main stack is located laterally on the rear wall of this section. The south-east front features a symmetrical arrangement of windows with three, two, and three boxed glazing bar sashes. The entrance is positioned to the right of the center and is framed by a moulded wooden architrave, leading to a six-panel door. A lean-to slated canopy covers the central area. The visible framing at the rear consists of four square panels high. Inside, the room to the south of the entrance is adorned with early 18th-century bolection moulded panelling.
