Description

This is a barn, likely dating from the 17th century, situated approximately 5 metres north of Staplow House. The barn is timber-framed with brick infill, featuring a sandstone plinth and a lean-to addition to its rear (north side). It has a tiled roof. The barn’s five bays are aligned east to west, facing south, with a central threshing floor now defined by brick spur walls rising to the tie-beam. A further doorway is positioned in the second bay from the left. The structure incorporates collar and tie-beam trusses, with inclined struts and V-struts incorporated into the gable ends.
