Description
Priors Court is a farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century, with alterations made circa 1820-30. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof, hipped on the right side, and features a brick modillion cornice. The house is arranged in an L-shape and has an attached outbuilding that includes an oast house at the rear left.
The main house is three storeys high and has two windows, plus one in a projecting section to the left. All windows are 16-pane sash windows with rubbed brick flat arches. A central panelled door is set within a doorcase featuring pilasters and a pediment. A later 19th-century single-storey extension, formerly a farm office, projects from the right corner.
The rear wing has 3-light casement windows with segmental heads. A long outbuilding attached to the rear left terminates in two square oast kilns with pyramidal slate roofs. The interior of the front part of the house retains stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops and a deep inglenook fireplace in the front right room.
