Description

The Royal Hotel is a large stucco building dating from 1837, located on the site of the old Bishop's Palace. It features gabled wings with barge boards and stands three storeys tall. The chimneys are set diagonally, and there are sash windows supported by corbels. A balcony with iron railings enhances its appearance. The building is painted white and occupies a prominent position. Extensions and outbuildings create a courtyard around the hotel.
